Porcelain Bottle vases are inspired by a collection of plastic trash from the river Maas in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. After reading about plastic soup, designer Foekje Fleur started looking more carefully at the river and found plastic waste that had been accumulating there since the 1960s. By creating durable porcelain copies of the material she finds, Foekje Fleur tries to spread awareness of this growing problem. The plastic bottles are used to create moulds. Pigmented liquid porcelain is poured into the moulds, leaving a thin layer that forms the shape. After drying, the inside of the bottle is glazed lead-free and fired at 1300 C. All this handwork is done by craftsmen, therefore none of the bottles are exactly the same: small stains and deformations occur and these add to the beauty of the finished product. The bottle is signed at the bottom. Styling tip: Beautiful to style several bottles together with colorfull flowers! Size 22,6 X 7,6 X 4,5 cm. Delivery time: Usually ships in 1 to 3 business days.
